Thanks a lot for stopping by my blog. My name is Priyanka and I am mum to a cute little 15 month old son. He is the center of my universe right now and I am sure he will be making a special appearance on the blog quite often. I am a full time mama and now that my son sleeps like normal people, I am utilizing all the free time to do some cleaning, blogging, blog reading, cooking, DIY’ing, being active, reading books and SLEEPING.

I love to read, fiction, non-fiction, magazines, newspapers, blogs. Heck I even read the back of shampoo bottles when I am in the shower :)

Well that was a  bit about me! Please feel free to drop a comment or email me and share your views and suggestions. Thanks!

Aha, so you’re at U of Tenn – got it!! Cool. Whenever I think of Tennessee, I think of Tennessee Williams and a streetcar named Desire. Haha.

Anyways, I’m glad you decided to start a blog to document your mission–thanks for sharing your journey with us!!

P.S. I love purple too. XD

I’m also obsessed with Purple!! Have you read the book ‘Fit for Life’? It changed the way I think about food and eating, forever…Good luck, dear! xxx

Hi Priyanka. Your story is inspirational. Eating healthily and exercising is hard – I find it tough too. I’ve managed to work enough exercise into my life that I can occasionally binge but I love chocolate, crisps and cake! I found that by entering events (e.g. running races or duathlons) it motivates me to train – mostly because I don’t want to be the person who comes last (second to last is fine!). Good luck! Reena

So happy for you success [and Ph.D] Thank you for dropping by my blog and leaving lovely compliments. I can see that you struggle from the same problem as me – to keep the fat off! Good to have found you. Do keep in touch!

I found your blog through “Kiss My Broccoli” and was so excited to see other bloggers from Tennessee. I live in Knoxville too and finally decided to get motivated and start my own fitness/health blog.

I really enjoyed reading your story and journey. It’s very inspirational! I lacked motivation too but soon realized that I could have already finished working out in that hour I sat on the couch trying to talk myself into it. I just have to do it without thinking about it sometimes.

I really look forward to your blog posts and can’t wait to try out a few of your recipes- especially the tahini dressing!

I love that your brother was your first trainer! I work out with my brother, sister, and Dad all the time–they give me so much motivation. And they push me when I don’t feel like working out! ;)

According to your current way of life, it sounds like you are right track to losing those last 20 lbs!

Hi Priyanka! Glad to hear you’re on the path not to another diet craze but to a lifetime of whole/clean eating and physical activity :) Once we change our perspective and goals towards a lifelong pursuit instead of a quick-fix fad, it’s amazing how quickly things start changing for the better – the way our bodies feel, our mental health, the way our skin glows, the way our jeans fit, etc. And P.S. Don’t feel so bad – we’re all lazy in the body…it’s ferocity with the mind that conquers the body :) Looking forward to reading!

So glad to have found your blog Priyanka. It’s amazing how all us desi wives have the same concerns and eventually blog about such similar things. I gained 25 lbs after I got married and I’m on a mission to lose them now! Cannot wait to try some of your recipes :)
